I mean why would you really want to when the original use was so terrible? As far as I know it hasn't been done with any other racial slur, but maybe I'm just unaware if it has been. When African-Americans use it endearingly between each other it takes power away from the word and gives it to them. EDIT: As for other examples, you see it with some gay people and various homophobic slurs It also makes its usage prevalent, common, and used more frequently by whites/non-blacks. The osmosis is real.
