Not to shill for the mouse, but if you're already drawing on a 3ds, Disney Art Academy is a big step up from the default notepad. Apparently it's no longer available on the eshop, but physical copies don't seem to be too expensive. There's also Pokemon Art Academy and vanilla Art Academy, but the Pokemon version's layers and tools suck and I don't know anything about the original. There's also Colors 3d or something like that, but I don't really know anything about that one either.

All of that said, you're doing amazing with the default notepad. Your drawings are adorable.

thanks! i actually had some art academy version on wii u that i was enjoying using, but then a lamp made of stone punctured the gamepad screen and ruined it, so... here we are. i should really just get a chromebook or something, but i don't know where to begin with modern technology, and i'm afraid to commit to expensive options
