McIntyre spent last summer feuding with Jinder fucking Mahal after a year where he went toe to toe with Reigns. Lashley couldn't beat McIntyre clean, either. All three losses involved interference from MVP. The Jinder feud was literally him getting completely dominated by McIntyre from start to finish. The Madcap Moss shit is weird until reports came out they're super high on Moss and he started picking up clean wins over guys like Kofi Kingston. But everything seemed to indicate that McIntyre was about to be elevated back up the card with his involvement with Jeff Hardy until Jeff left and it was revealed Drew had a neck injury. Hell, he was supposed to have a long back and forth with Lesnar at the end of the Rumble that was ultimately cut for time.
