The cost of housing varies WILDLY throughout the U.S. (and presumably Canada, too). $100K does seem low, but I've definitely heard of areas in "flyover country" where houses are like $120K or $150K, and not small houses, either. It's a factor in the minimum wage debate where like... yeah, the federal amount hasn't kept up w/ inflation and needs to be indexed to it. But the left's push to blanket increase it to $15 or $20 or whatever is irresponsible because that would be genuinely insane in low cost areas.
