Someone working at an Amazon Warehouse can be thinking, "OK. I clear about $25,000 a year. At least I know that bills x, y, z, 1, 2, and 3 will be covered no matter what." Some can have the job as a supplement to a spouse's income, and would have no reason to break their back trying for another industrial job, when their job of taping Amazon boxes closed is all the effort they want in a job.
