Depends on where you live. There are places in the US where you have to drive like 40 minutes just to go to the grocery store. There are also places where literally everything you can possibly imagine needing or wanting is within a 15 minute drive. This used to come up in the Geek topics, when Wave mentioned he had to drive like 2 hours to go to the nearest movie theater, and I'd point that I couldn't imagine being willing to drive more than 2 hours for anything less than life-saving surgery. I can get to my local movie theater in about 15 minutes. I can get to my grocery store in about 10. I can get to my local convenience store, gas station, or McDonalds in about 5.
