Which is mostly why Democrats never actually make meaningful steps toward improving the wealth disparity issue. They make a few token efforts under the pretense that that's all they can manage, since doing so is a part of their party identity, but they rely too heavily on lobbying from major corporations to ever really tax the rich properly.

Making a few token efforts for the sake of maintaining their party identity, however, is still better than steadfastly resisting those efforts and actively making the problem worse for the sake of maintaining party identity, as the GOP does. Neither is particularly beneficial, but I'd rather see the problem made 0.1% better than 0% better.
