xGhostchantx 04/12/22 12:53:52 AM #12: | tradition and a misplaced sense of it being more formal or superior. same reason why so many latinates still exist in English. the aristocracy spoke French so it became a prestige language. additionally, numbers have always been written in Latin format in English since at least ~600-700AD when the futhorc stopped being used; unless the word for the number is written; Arabic numerals didn't enter English until the 13th/14th centuries, at which point English is readable and understandable for any modern speaker. on six dagum eoran dle (Christ and Satan) "on the sixth day, the Earth's dale [was made]" XXX and C isses lifes (Genesis A,B) "30 and 100 [of] these lives" ...
