TopicI made a dumb mistake the other day with Comcast

and now I'm "paying" for it.

We got my grandma's house a router so they can stop renting the one from Comcast. I thought I was logged into her comcast account on the app on my phone. turns out I was in my moms account, so it cancelled our router(that we bought for our house) and added the new one I bought for my grandmas house.

I called Comcast to fix this and they couldn't do it that day. So I call again the next day, and got it sorted out, mostly. Internet here works with correct router MAC number thing, and my grandmas ought to work.

Problem is, this fucked with our landlines for both houses. I call my landline number for my house, it goes to my grandmas house. Our phones here have no dial tone and do not work.

So, I mentioned this the other day when I got the routers associated with the right accounts, and he said it could work in 24 hours.

No. So today I call comcast, and we troubleshooted the issue and nothing worked. So, she said she would forward this to another department and they would call me back perhaps in a few hours.

I feel like an idiot for making the original mistake of removing the router and adding a new one on the wrong account. I just had no idea HOW BIG OF AN ISSUE this would be and that it would fuck with landlines too.

It's been like 3 hours and no call. If no call today, I try again friday when I'll have some free time. God damn, this is frustrating, but I understand tech support hell is what it is, so I'm always kind to the people on the phone and everything.

i don't know...just a rant i guess.
