The biggest issue has been that they honestly just haven't been able to make it. There have been drivers since the 40's and 50's with varying degrees of sponsorship all the way up to Danica Patrick, Erin Crocker, and now you have Natalie Decker who has pretty good money behind her. Erin and Natalie did/do well in the truck series and xfinity but never could make the jump to the Cup series although Natalie is still very young so she still could. Danica as much Iove as I have for her never got going in NASCAR. She left Indy for the money and fame and she got it but never got results to back it up. Unpopular opinion but Dale Jr. is the same way though, yes he has some wins but he never won a cup championship and he only got his start of popularity because of his name too.
