I'd strongly recommend increasing the nomination period. There's less urgency for listening to all of the noms as it's bracket by day, but it should still be something that's possible to do, and as it stands many people aren't going to make it through day 2. Last year had a lot of "downtime", but people were still listening and thinking then, and seeing as it seems likely that this nomination set will be larger than last year's, cutting the period down to nearly 2/3s given how the first few days have gone might not turn out great.

seconding, or else requesting my prior suggestion of outright pausing nominations after the first week (for a week-long break) be implemented
