Japan makes better games, America makes better music, all subjective yo my own taste of course. I do find it fascinating how any attempt from Japan to emulate some Western always ends up being at least as good as the Western equivalent (usually better). Like Silent Hill, Japanese infused Lynchian psychological horror draped in meat and rust as a binding agent. Dark Souls is way better than any Western Medieval fantasy. Even though I say the West produces better music there's a ton of stuff coming from Japan that is very technically impressive it just doesn't jive as well with my ear (could be a language thing, the cadence of their words require different things from backing instrumentals perhaps? I dunno...).
