I actually did ask some of my real life friends, but none of them seemed interested in it.

I did play a bit over the weekend myself, with mainly using Bugs Bunny, and I won my first online FFA match, which was nice.

I'm a bit concerned with the F2P stuff, though. I unlocked one character and it seemed like I wouldn't be able to unlock another for quite a while. Maybe that won't be an issue without the time limit of a few days, but there will also be more characters. Or maybe I'll spend money. Something like this is worth it.

That's pretty much what they're banking on to make money on this game, plus the Battle Pass. It being F2P significantly lowers the entry-barrier to get people actively playing the game, which is a problem that a lot of fighting games face down the line, if they're not one of the super popular IPs.

The fact that you can try out any character in the Lab regardless of whether or not you unlocked them is a good way to get people spending to get characters so someone can't be like, "WTF? I bought Saruman and he sucks!" (I mean that can still happen when they fight other players online, but at least they would have some idea how the character is like)
