There are some admittedly great concepts and tragic arcs at play, but I never found myself drawn to any of the characters. It doesn't help that historical fiction is one of my least favorite genres, and the "attention to detail" that many of you lauded actually worked against the movie IMO with the dialogue being such a pain to make sense of.
