Today minimum wage, outside of one or two States which may have raised it substantially, is less than $300 a week.

lolwut? It's a lot more than "one or two states." Over half the country has a minimum wage set higher than the federal and, much more importantly, right now very few employers are just paying the minimum because workers are at a premium.

Fucking restaurant managers in the UK, even with all their Brexit BS and inflation, pays twice as much as it does in the US AND they get 6 weeks paid vacation.

Not even sure what you were trying to say. If you're suggesting managers get paid more in the UK than the US, I'd want to see some substantiation.

The average cost of a home during the Great Depression, translated in todays money, would be about $70,000. The average cost of a home today is $400,000.

That's deceptive because the mega-rich have even more luxurious homes which skew the average. If you take that out, the number iirc is closer to $210k and it's worth noting that homes today are held to far more rigorous building standards (whereas a lot of homes in the great depression would be condemned under modern zoning standards). Not to mention GD homes often didn't have electricity or even indoor plumbing (or modern indoor plumbing, since they still had things like cisterns), both of which drive up the prices -- as does air conditioning. Hell, you had homes build back then that didn't even have flooring on the ground floor.

Comparing the price of housing then vs now is idiotic because they're not even close to being the same kind of homes. It's like suggesting vehicles cost far more nowadays by comparing a bicycle to a car.
