This is loaded with the kinds of things I love about Mitsuto Suzuki compositions-- a combination of 'real' and electronic instrumentation with an exotic feel and evoking a certain wide-eyed, shiny wonder. This feels 'big' and carries itself with some bombast, but it does so without feeling overblown-- it earns its grandeur. Things that don't feel like they'd be natural fits-- most notably the saxophone playing five-note sequences-- work perfectly, somehow. The way 2:20 hits is incredibly euphoric, one of my favourite musical moments in this contest. This has somehow trended up for me since nominations! I look forward to listening to this track every time.
