gonna be real here, i think project moon games are kinda cool, but this just sounds like standard gacha game event bgm to me. fortunately, that resemblance has sobered me to the realisation that it is still music i like more than average (unlike ones like but it's not exactly a highlight by vgmc standards

yeah this is definitely a frums. unfortunately it's also got a little too much "styles that have fallen out of style for me now" in it, but it's still very polished as one would expect of a frums (sasuga frums on the frumsong)

honestly, maybe underrating passing through the forest, i only took it to round 3 in my favourites bracket but i had a hard time deciding between it and yusnaan and i've been thinking i'm still underrating yusnaan too, it's a virtually flawless song that always manages to hit harder over time. this too is a really damn hard song for me to vote against 99.9% of the time, even with many songs in this contest that have more things that i like in them, this is possibly the quintessential song for capturing what it does)

elephant's foot is definitely a song. memesong but serious is a difficult art to execute (and mostly just seen done well ever rhythm games lol), but it does reasonably well at it. it's unfortunate it's in a day like this one where 4/5 of the other songs are ones that are kind of every bit as out there as it without trying to be goofy and draw attention to its better aspects. in other words, this is basically a "yo wtf why does this slap" type of song in a day where pure god songs are also present.

tree. i'll admit i spent most of the time while listening to this doing the prior writeup, so I probably don't need to convey my thoughts on this any more lol. still, phantasy star online 2 huh. is yggdrasil the best pso2 song? not really. is it the most pso2 song? also not really. but it is the most "this is pso2" kind of song possible and a perfect rep to encapsulate exactly why it has absolutely every right to have attention drawn to it for what kind of things they're doing with it music-wise (and not in the elephant's foot semi-desperate kind of way). also poor world tree

thank you koei tecmo and thank you yoko kanno. how the heck did this get in. i often fear the idea of vgm just becoming "Real Music" but if it was all this i would just replace everything in a heartbeat. also tbh i liked all the location genre suggestions for this one more, lounge adrift isn't bad but it's a lot absolutely more than just lounge here. and also i hate this match and even though i genuinely have my qualms about this song being eligible in this field i'm more shocked by the seeding injustice it was dealt for no reason
