We just tend not to see it because neither character typically gets a good seed and they're often fed to stronger characters right away. Instead Donkey Kong drew perpetual choker Tidus while Pac-Man drew Sans from Undertale. We've also held a grand total of two 1v1 character battles since the 4way era finished.
