I do think it weakens some of the impact of her earlier segments in retrospect.
This, mostly. I liked the idea that this caretaker android would end up being a better parent to a human kid than the kid's actual human father.
I also found it kind of annoying how you spend a chunk of the game taking care of the kid's "human" needs and then it turns out that was all pointless. And Kara knows the kid's an android the entire time but is in denial so that makes it even more annoying.
Then I get into the weeds and start thinking about the logistics of everything - Todd is portrayed as a broke, down on his luck drug addict, but he can somehow afford to purchase and maintain two droids and fuel his drug habit? And we know his maintenance costs have to be high since he's beating them. Also they let you buy kid droids just to abuse them?
Then again the entire economy in that game makes little to no sense.
