Yeah, Charon helps quite a bit also. And, to answer your question, it's because the developer GameFreak contracted was lazy and just wanted to do the bare minimum, because they knew they'd sell millions regardless. I never bothered getting BDSP because I was told "Meh, whatever. Just replay Platinum."

And based on how ORAS didn't get the Emerald treatment, I was bound to believe it. They're not gonna top the remakes that HGSS were (and those are next in line to be remade... so let's hope they do it right).
