He's been kicked out of the Academy and he doesn't make movies funded by any American studio from my knowledge. Pretty much everyone has disavowed him at this point. That being said, yeah Hollywood is dumb as fuck when it comes to predators in the arts, same with every other artistic industry. But Polanski's work is significant in the realm of film that it should be regarded highly with an asterisk. D.W.
