Coalescence is a terrific chill track. It builds well but the last min or so of payoff doesn't land quite as hard as it could for me, maybe it needs more layers? IDK I'm nitpicking, it's still great.
I thought Routing would be one of those tracks I find unpleasant and don't get the appeal of at all, but it actually grew on me and I kinda dig its vibes now.
Bamboo v Purple is a very high quality R1 matchup. BB isn't my absolute fav Messenger track but it's a solid piece with all the high energy fast paced beeping and booping I usually enjoy. I particularly adore from 1:25-1:45 when the bass takes over with that really cool lil melody. Not sure if there's a technical term for what it's doing there but it takes the track up to a whole new level.
Unfortunately Bamboo is up against one of my fav new discoveries of the contest (I feel like I've been saying that a lot lately!). Purple is groovier and more substantial than its predecessor. I love everything going on here, from the relaxing acoustic riffs early on to the electric guitar finding its way in the middle, to the iconic climax tearing things up for 2 minutes like no tomorrow. The journey is beautiful and the payoff is immensely satisfying, I'm not quite as fussed on the denouement but who cares.
Route 113 is good but I'm not sure why it's in this contest, there are better RSE songs imo.
Radical Dreamers isn't doing anything mindblowing but it's a solid pleasant JRPG song. I kinda like that it stays at the same level throughout instead of going over the top trying to reach an emotional climax, I could close my eyes and enjoy this for some time. Probably could do with something else going on though.
