Your best aid dietarily is to eat food with lots of fiber. Eat strictly whole grain foods and avoid white, refined carbohydrates like white rice, bread, pasta. Eat nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables. Do exercise. The more cardio intensive the better. Omega 3, red yeast rice supplements. Low vitamin D also raises cholesterol.

This is how I managed to cut all my numbers by half and raise HDL.
