Black Noir's death really soured me on the whole thing. Like the dialogue with Homelander talking about being able to see him was great, but him being killed by Homelander is such a whatever who cares afterthought. They gave us all of this development to be a sudden kill by Homelander that doesn't really mean much.
I think it would have at least have been better if Homelander had killed him in front of Soldier Boy or something. Maybe let Noir do literally anything other than go down in the lamest way possible. Just a complete misfire on that and I can't understand it.
I had the same thought. Tease a Noir/Soldier Boy face-off until Homelander steps in and kills him. Works as both Homelander being pissed about not knowing he had a father as well as a last ditch effort to impress Soldier Boy.
I guess they kinda needed it to scare the piss out of the remaining Seven and Ashley, but they were already terrified anyway (except A-Train, who was honestly my favorite part of this season).
