Lots of ignorant takes in the topic here unfortunately.

Would it be funny for a comedian to basically say, "It's my opinion that black people are less intelligent then white people. Look at test results in schools! Look at incarceration numbers! It's obvious based on those things that clearly black people are less intelligent! LOL, isn't that funny?"

Chapelle is not making any sort of critique of anything. He looks at the trans community, says, "Gender isn't a thing. You have a penis you're a male and if you have a vagina you're a woman. Oh, but not one of those mutilated ones, only the ones at birth. Social construction, brain mapping, none of that stuff matters. If you think you're trans, you're wrong"

I can tell you right now, if a comedian came out with ignorant "jokes" about black people, especially now, they'd be rightly blasted for it. Commenting on the results of systemic oppression can be funny and insightful. A lot of comedians, Chapelle included, have joked about the results of their oppression to speak to their genuine experience. Chapelle, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, all of them have rightly spoken to their experience.

But I can guarantee none of them would take kindly to some white dude essentially making "jokes" making definitive statements about the very existence of "black people".
