Tbh as long as you look up the safe voltage and temperature limits for your specific hardware and stay under that it's pretty much impossible to fuck your hardware up. Now it's possible you'll make it so your PC won't boot at all but if you just clear CMOS that'll fix it. My motherboard has a button on the back of the PC that'll do that so I don't even have to open it up

Like, I'd probably eventually build a whole new pc to overclock more and more until I was either bored, or couldn't gain anything worth more. I haven't even had to overclock it yet on the newest gen.
