I agree Firestarter was boring, and I am not sure there was even a story in the movie... but why is Texas Chainsaw Massacre so low for you

Honestly the biggest problem for me lied in the plot and the insufferably bad character decisions made throughout the film. For the film to work in the slightest, the characters are made to consistently make awful non-logical choices that were practically beyond anything I've seen in slasher movies to this date. Like when the characters first show up and cause the orphanage owner to lose consciousness and the chef's fianc just decides to randomly go in the ambulance with Leatherface and the cops when she was barely had anything to do with the situation to begin with. Then later on, one of the worst scenes I've ever seen in anything, no exaggeration, they're like taking off in the bus, getting away from Leatherface, and they're driving along and suddenly the bus driver stops OUT OF NOWHERE to check something and then of course he dies which allows their "epic" bus massacre to happen. And of course, they also butcher Sally's character who shouldn't even be obsessed with Leatherface as much as she is and arrives on the scene to instantly fail and be taken out by Leatherface. Like, what the hell? If you're going to break back a legacy character at least do something better. The whole film was just a complete waste of time unless you just want some bloody kills which I admit it does an okay job within that regard. I mean, I'm not surprised though since the last film, Leatherface, was also a complete dumpster fire.

I've decided to put my fears behind me. I'm not going back.
