So Max actually died as her bones got snapped but she is not actually dead and is currently comatose? Yes, El used her powers to bring Max back from the edge of physical death. But the later scene with El going into trance and screaming for Max in an empty space implies that Max is somehow soul-trapped by Vecna (or at least that's the reasonable assumption; the alternative is that Max is completely braindead, which I don't see happening).
