But do you honestly think hes won anyone over with how he conducts himself? It makes the people he confronts less willing to do the right thing.

Shaming them is better than doing nothing. Again, the only people they can blame are themselves so theres no sympathy to be had for them. Even if their car was keyed or a light smashed its their fault. Its pointless blaming anyone but them.
