The interface that MS uses for it's Memory Cards is CFexpress (Type B). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CFexpress While current CFexpress is on PCIe 3.0 MS wanted more speed so they decided to jump the gun and go with PCIe 4.0 MS couldn't wait for CFexpress to implement PCIe 4.0, so they jumped the gun and did it themselves and applied it for their Memory Card.
