Just watched Nathan for You's finale and it absolutely lived up to the hype for me. It really took Nathan's reality/fiction bending concepts to the next level and I feel the episode poses the question as to why even an audience would watch something like this in the first place. Having cameras constantly around, that longing for something real, to not have regrets as we get older, and as the episode progressed I like how it became more about Nathan's search for that rather than Bill's specifically. It's an episode chock full of genuine emotion - a true roller coaster ride of thrills practically better than any film or TV show. I mean, I went from rooting for Bill, to being wary of him, to just feeling so sad for the guy, and in a way that's sort of the story of Nathan throughout the show too. The final scene in particular - what a poignant way to end the series. We could turn the cameras off - or we could get a cool drone shot of our "romantic" moment. It's a moment so befitting of the so-called "wizard of loneliness" - defiantly awkward to the very end. It's why this show stands as one probably one of the best shows ever made honestly and I feel bad having missed out on it all these years! It's just a work of pure comedic genius that deftly analyzes the relationship between fact and fiction perhaps better than any other work has ever done before.

I don't know, it's late and I'm a bit stream-of-consciousness right now but I just really loved it and it's one of those episodes that's going to stick with me a long time.

I've decided to put my fears behind me. I'm not going back.
