that seems a bit suss as well. ol' sam uses the "I can't carry the ring, but I can carry you" loophole, which would apply to the eagles as well, surely? not like they have to jam the ring on one of their talons to take off.

The entire thing with Sam was that he was kind of resistant to it.

The eagles could get seduced and just kill them and take the Ring and that would turn into a giant ass problem since they're very powerful and the same type of beings as both the wizards and Sauron.

And let's say they even made it to Mordor safely, they'd be taken out before reaching Mt. Doom. Hence why they don't come to save Frodo and Sam till the Ring is destroyed and all the towers as well.
