To further illustrate, do this mental exercise. Considering Gigalith is probably the "regular" pokemon most similar to Tyranitar, would Gigalith be better or worse if it was dual Rock/Dark?

i mean gigalith has nothing to take advantage of that typing at all.

it has none of the speed to take advantage of the typings offensive power.

Yes, you see the Fighting/Water/Steel/Bug/Grass/Ground/Fairy attacks coming a mile away.

Yes, it's still bad disregarding fighting. People's obsession with x4 weakness is silly and it works both ways. Its insane pseudo legendary stats, movepool and ability allows it to bypass this.

Rock/Dark is an awful type combo. Try thinking about it without a 600 BST and sandstorm to further boost that BST.

steel bug and grass are only used as stab attacks because their poor offensive coverage

water and fairy are good coverage moves but they have pretty poor viable availability.

most of the time you see a TTAR youre either EQing it or your CCing it
