I can't ever recall meeting someone who enjoyed being poor or mistreated. People in MV, The Hamptons etc have no direct relation to regular folks therefore they do not care. Back during the Gilded Age in America, one socialite said: "We have control of America and only the Lord knows how, but we intend to keep it if we can."
