The cog railway to the top of pikes peak & driving thru "garden of the gods" can be done in the same day, as they are really close to each other. You can also drive up the to the peak if you're not scared of the switchbacks. Just be careful not to overheat your brakes on the way back down or they'll force you to pull over at a halfway station to let them cool off. ill check out the rail way.
