Second season is a huge improvement in just about every way, though.Yeah, Season 1 of K-On is mostly good but commits several of the cardinal sins of slice-of-life anime (weird sexualisation and characters who are bland and one-note mixed with a slow and meandering plot). Season 2 is just straight up the best thing in the genre and fixes both of those big issues from the first season (although it's perhaps even less focused pacing-wise). Plus it's gorgeous, has a great soundtrack, and pretends to not have a plot before bludgeoning you in the face with it. Season 1 is only a 6 cause of its director and soundtrack, but season 2 is an easy 9 throughout. --- Perhaps the golden rock was inside us all along. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
