2 was perfect

No reason to change the formula. 2 made most other fighting games look bad. 3 was an utter disappointment in that department, for all it did well, it entirely failed to capture the magic of 2 and the series has never quite recovered. Ideally, we see a Soul Calibur 2 reboot with lots of references to forgotten PS2 era fighting game tropes, and snippets of long-winded stories from back in that day to create some relevance or backbone.
