It may not be how the law actually says the situation should work, but the police rarely face proper blame according to the law. Can't argue that. It is bullshit that that is what likely will happen too, because something went wrong here and no one is going to want to look at this as a learning exercise to do better if they're just going to sweep it under the rug as "innocent people get murdered by cops because bad people do bad things." Which is fair, the dad is responsible for creating the situation; doesn't excuse shitty situational awareness and handling of the situation. --- This issues still comes to mind now and then Cake was baking in the oven and mother was making tea for us ...
