Why would FLAC through a regular audio jack be better than a CD? It'd definitely be of comparable quality, but the availability of FLAC would be dependent on either buying the digital files from bandcamp (or somewhere similar), ripping the CD, or finding the music via illegal means - which is increasingly difficult today, and FLAC was rarely the format of choice anyhow.

At the end of the day, they'd be the same quality, so the choice on which is preferable would come down to convenience. A CD for a car without an audio jack is convenient.

Is any streaming service offering FLAC yet? I don't think so? "High quality" for Spotify is 320kpbs. Most of the time, I can't tell the difference, but there're a few songs where I do.
