That makes it a bit odd that they would change the ethnic backgrounds of Shaggy and Daphne in a prequel. Is the final episode going to have a cosmic hiccup where a Black man and an Asian woman suddenly become White? (What is their explanation for the younger versions of the characters in A Pup Named Scooby Doo?) All series and movies are not connected. Just look at Scooby Goes Hollywood, where they remember how they got Scoob and his first birthday.
