Colorful graphics, fun characters, simple story (not always a bad thing) gameplay was good, music was aces, combat wasn't bad and it was neat how the enemies deteriorated as they took more damage. I think ppl get upset because it was advertised as beginner rpg (?)..... in the future people just found it an easy target. Like how people erroneously thought Secret of Evermore was why Secret of Mana 2 never came out. I think Secret of Stars is probably shit now but back then I was willing to give it more a chance as the two different party system was different at the time, and I would try to play any rpg, but it's just comes off as so dull looking and boring in general now. --- "A lesser talent couldn't have pulled it off.
