I recorded this off the radio, I've been trying to track it down, I've talked to these people etc. is a more compelling story. Also it doesn't hurt the story at all that it was from cold war era Germany. A lot of information (and even a few people, I'd wager) simply vanished after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
