Topic	I'm doing a solo run in Pokemon Red with Porygon (who did nothing wrong)

So I can use Conversion at the start of the battle to turn Porygon into an Electric type and make it resist Electric attacks for the battle, level up Porygon to 28 by knocking out Voltorb and have it learn Recover mid-battle by deleting Conversion, and then fight the rest of the gym battle with Recover.
