The dubs for a lot of newer video games are actually really good. Ironically, a lot of really old anime also has good dubbing (Macross/Robotech, Speed Racer, etc that kind of stuff) It's specifically the 90s / early 2000s stuff that was dubbed like shit. Also, and this may be a point of contention, but when it comes to singing skill, the quality is basically a complete toss up, sometimes the English is way better than the Japanese.
