My thoughts on the "slim GOP majority in the House" Speaker fight has been roughly this for around two months or so:

McCarthy is toast, House Freedom Caucus can and will sink him. They'll try to back Jim Jordan but that'll be too much for a number of Republicans in vulnerable districts given the shitshow he'd create. Stefanik ends up as the "compromise" candidate between the GOP factions and ends up Speaker.

Saw an article reporting the HFC planned to put up Biggs as their nominee in an attempt to make Jordan the compromise candidate but lmao. Just gamesmanship on their part, don't think it alters my thoughts that Jordan can't get 218.

Highly doubt the Dems end up involved in this though obviously they could if there are a handful of GOP willing to work with them. No idea who ends up Speaker in that case but I also don't see this scenario actually happening.
