Can't really help you there as the reasons that you get into those sorts of games is entirely personal and has little to do with inherent qualities. People get attached to games entirely for their own rationale and while I could say something as simple as "Go play Yakuza 0, Hollow Knight, or Stardew Valley" as those have clearly shown that they absolutely match up to any of those games in terms of captivating people whether or not they jive with you is entirely a personal thing.I don't really think of myself as much of an RPG guy but when they get it right, they're on another level. FFX and XBC are more traditional and while I really like them, it was harder to get subsequent playthroughs out of them. Incentive to replay usually comes from something sentimental like you say. New Vegas and DS1 though, they're probably about as good as video games can get. They start fast, they give you customisation options and routes, they're easy to play music over, there isn't a lot of time wasting. All four are easy to laugh at/with too and giving you your own mix of headcanon/in-jokes is pretty much the best thing a game can do. Meanwhile Steam thinks I like survival horror games. You help someone with RE5 pro difficulty, then do one lap of Dead Rising 1 and Steam accuses you of liking slow walking and a total lack of replay value. Keeps trying to pitch older CoD games at me too. --- Still waiting on that third threat ... Copied to Clipboard! |
