I don't feel disappointed. It's not a great feeling but it's not disappointment.

disappointment was five years ago. this year's team competently controlled large chunks of games. We lacked composure defensively and no real finish or poise around the goal when attacking, but this is also a very young team. moral victories don't get you to the next round but at least we lost to Netherlands instead of Trinidad and Tobago :)

Just the end of the game. The overall tourney was a, maybe solid B for us? Disappointment would have been bombing out of the group stage.

As you said, there were periods of pretty good play, its just that we failed to truly capitalize on that, which is what separates the best. I HOPE that we learn and grow from this but you just never know, as consistency can be hard to come by in national team soccer outside those top, top teams.

We dont need to qualify for the next WC, so were going to have to push to play big teams and tourneys and get that experience. We want to play at the level of England, Netherlands and Croatia, not Honduras, T&T, and the other CONCACAF also rans. And you need the crucible of top level competition to do that and raise your game.
