That is a massive leap in logic. What does depression have to do with economic destitution? That is a result, not a cause.

That shouldn't even be an idea in somebodies head in a first world country, because social services took adequate care of them. Social services generally does not take adequate care of people, though.

No, it's "I need this shit and I can't get it legitimately for reasons completely out of my control. The cost to benefit ratio of stealing what I need to a tiny loss in profit to a multi-million/billion dollar corporation makes this decision a no-brainer."

The fact that you're more offended by people stealing shit so they don't go hungry than you are that the most common form of theft is EMPLOYERS stealing from EMPLOYEES suggests that you don't understand the subject at hand at all.

Because the loss is negligible to the company and you could ruin someone's fucking life over it. Imagine being happy sending someone to prison for years over stealing fucking food (and this isn't even mentioning the far more wasteful, expensive process of throwing people in prison. What, you get pissy over petty theft but you take no issue with wasting millions and millions of taxpayer dollars locking these people up? Please...). Stop centering your feelings and start thinking about the material outcomes.

Jesus, I didn't even bring up the fact that these corporations THROW AWAY more than is EVER stolen from them, and will go out of their way to make sure that desperate people can't even go through their fucking trash. No, no one gets to bitch and moan about theft while that shit happens. That's ridiculous.
