So are all the vertical standing PC's with liquid cooling all gonna die too?
No. It's specifically a problem with what sony is using. Liquid Metal is extremely good for thermal transfers, which is why it's used by extreme PC enthusiasts to get the lowest temperatures possible. The problems, however are a good handful:
1)It's an electrically conductive paste meaning that if you accidentally get it anywhere that ISN'T directly and ONLY directly on the integrated heat spreader or *exact* chips it's meant to cool, it will fry your PC in a heartbeat and turn it into a paperweight.
2)IIRC, Liquid Metal is not exactly known for longevity, having it in an orientation that gravity could affect over time is not going to help matters there.

That's odd, PC gamers using liquid metal don't have that problem.
It could just be sony's actual application of it & whatever cooling system they designed not having enough pressure, or too much.
