Also not everything you learn in fucking drivers ed needs to be followed to a t. For example hands on 10 and 2? Unless you are a scary.

Simply putting the shift in park is enough for most cars on a non slope/hill. Unless you possess an old ass car.
I don't see a problem with using the parking brake. It takes a second to activate/deactivate. It's not like it's some big inconvenience, so why not use it?
